Sleights station is beside the Esk at the foot of the village, next to the road bridge and the level crossing on the A169. The main village, with its shops and pubs, climbs the hill to the south; the Plough Inn is near the bridge.

From the platform

  • Riverside and field paths lead east to Ruswarp, about two miles, for the boats and the Bridge Inn.
  • Lanes climb south to the hamlet of Littlebeck and on to Falling Foss, about three miles.
  • The Esk Valley Walk passes through on its way from Grosmont to Whitby.
