Glaisdale is one of the few two-platform stations on the line, because this is where trains in opposite directions pass. It sits at the bottom of the long hill village, next to Beggar's Bridge and the Arncliffe Arms. All trains stop here.

From the platform

  • Cross Beggar's Bridge and follow the trods through Arncliffe Wood to Egton Bridge, the loveliest short walk in the valley, then ride back one stop from Egton.
  • Climb the village for the moorland views from Glaisdale Rigg.
