A little station above one of the prettiest villages in the valley, with the green, the river and the pub five minutes downhill.

Lealholm station stands on the hillside just above the village. Walk down the lane and you are on the village green beside the river, with the stepping stones, the Board Inn, tea rooms and the shop all in front of you.

From the platform

  • Field paths follow the Esk Valley Walk east to Glaisdale, about four miles, with Beggar's Bridge at the end and a station to bring you back.
  • West, the Esk Valley Walk leads to Danby and The Moors Centre in about five miles.
