Plough Inn, Sleights

The village pub near the river and station at the bottom of Sleights, closed for refurbishment and due to reopen in 2027.

The Plough is the pub nearest Sleights station, at the foot of the village close to the river bridge, and has long been a stop for walkers finishing the Esk Valley Walk between Grosmont and Whitby.

It was sold in 2026 to new owners who plan to refurbish it and reopen in 2027. Until then it is closed; the Salmon Leap by the station and the pubs in Ruswarp and Whitby are the nearest alternatives. We will update this page when it reopens.
