The Wheatsheaf is the pub in the hilltop village of Egton, a low-beamed local with a good reputation for cooking. It is a stiff climb from Egton station and Egton Bridge, which is exactly why it makes a satisfying lunch stop on a circular walk taking in both villages. Rooms are available.
