Ruswarp Pleasure Boats

Above the weir at Ruswarp the Esk is wide, slow and sheltered, and hiring a rowing boat or pedalo here has been a Whitby holiday tradition for generations. You can row upstream beneath the trees towards Sleights or simply drift about in the sun.

Boats are hired by the hour from the riverside. Life jackets are provided. Afterwards, the Bridge Inn is beside the river and a level footpath leads downstream into Whitby in about 30 minutes.
