The railway and its stations step back to the 1940s, with re-enactors, vintage vehicles, music and steam trains.

For one weekend in October the North Yorkshire Moors Railway turns the clock back to the Second World War. Stations along the line are dressed for the period, with re-enactment groups, military vehicles, 1940s music and dancing, and thousands of visitors in period costume. Goathland and Grosmont are at the heart of it, and the trains run a full timetable.
