Horned, fur-clad Krampus figures parade through the streets of Whitby in a boisterous Alpine-inspired winter festival.

Whitby's Krampus Run borrows the Alpine tradition of the Krampus, the horned companion of St Nicholas, and turns it into a family-friendly parade through the town on a Saturday afternoon in early December, raising money for local charities. Expect elaborate costumes, bells, drums and a lot of good-natured mischief.

Dates shown are the usual pattern for this event and should be confirmed with the organiser before travelling.
