Whitby to Ruswarp riverside

A level stroll up the Esk from the harbour to the boats and pub at Ruswarp, with a train back.

An easy leg-stretcher from the town. From Whitby station, follow the river upstream along the marina and the riverside path, beneath the arches of the Larpool Viaduct, to Ruswarp.

At Ruswarp there are rowing boats to hire in summer, the weir to watch and the Bridge Inn for refreshment. Return by train from Ruswarp station (a request stop, so signal to the driver), or walk back the same way.
