Duke of Wellington, Danby

An 18th-century coaching inn at the crossroads in Danby village, a minute from the station, with rooms and food.

The Duke of Wellington has stood at Danby's crossroads since the 1700s, when it was a recruiting post for the Napoleonic Wars; the Iron Duke's portrait is over the door. It serves food and local ales, has bedrooms, and is the natural stop before or after The Moors Centre, Danby Beacon or the walk up Danby Dale to the castle.
